Mound City Public Library is a service organization for the residents of Mound City and the surrounding communities. We provide books; periodicals; DVD;, photocopying, scanning, and fax services; highspeed internet access; WiFi; summer reading programs; weekly story time; and STEM Program for children after school twice a week.
Library Vision Statement
Our vision is to meet the needs of our patrons by the continuous updating of our library holdings, by improving our technological resources with new computers and wireless access and by offering cooperative summer reading and after school programming for children and teens. Our outreach efforts include Story Time on Tuesdays, STEM Club for 3rd through 5th Graders after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We offer presentations at the school. All of these Outreach Programs have been made possible with grant funding from the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by the Missouri State Library, a division of the Office of the Secretary of State. Additionally, we receive matching funds in our existing budget, and donated funds raised by a variety of community members and resources.

New Programs are made possible by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by the Missouri State Library, a division of the Office of the Secretary of State. In the past few years, the library has won several large grants totaling over $45,000. These funds were used for collection development, automation and new computers, Summer Reading Programs, and Racing to Read Grant and STEM Grant. In addition to grants, we enjoy the ongoing support of the Community. Community outreach to area children is a primary goal for the library as it improves literacy in the county.
